ABOUT THE CLASSES ON OFFER

Bellydance Syllabus Classes: Come join us for creative movement and exercise in a positive and fun setting! These classes will cover movement technique and drills; prop technique and drills; movement combinations and choreographies; music appreciation and instruments. Bellydance styles taught are Classical & Modern Egyptian, Egyptian Folklore, American Cabaret & Fusion Bellydance.

Tribal Fusion Syllabus Classes: Tribal fusion is an art form that is a dynamic, innovative blend of traditional belly dance disciplines, with folkloric dance from across the world. The combination of muscular and serpentine movements, with modern interpretations of movement, as well as locks, pops and ripples gives this dance form a unique flair. Instruction emphasizes posture and alignment, spatial awareness, and communication between dancers, as well as developing stamina, grace, and clarity of movement and line. You will learn muscle control and isolation techniques, as well as the powerful and yet feminine movements that differentiate this style.

Bellydance Fitness Fusion Classes: In this class, you will get a total body workout. You'll raise your heart rate, burn fat, and tone your muscles. This exercise-format class will include fun and fast drills and combinations which will have you dancing stronger and sharper! Bring water and be ready to sweat! These classes will include the following fusion bellydance styles: Bellynesian (fusion of bellydance & Polynesian styles such as Hawaiian & Tahitian); Arabic Flamenco (fusion of bellydance & Spanish dance); Belly Salsa; Bellywood (fusion of bellydance & Indian dance); African Fusion; Belly Burlesque; and more.


WHAT TO WEAR

Come dressed in comfortable pants (tracksuit / jazz / tribal / gym pants) and a top that allows us to see your body movement clearly. The classes include stretches which require you to work on the floor mats and stretch out your arms, so make sure the clothing you wear is suitable for this. You can start off dancing bare foot or in socks and buy the belly dance t-bar shoes / ballet shoes once you are sure you want to continue with lessons. You can also purchase a shimmy belt / hip scarf with coins on which you will tie around your hips to provide emphasis to your hip movements.

Book your spot in the class by emailing info@dancingdivinity.com – classes are kept small to ensure individual attention can be provided – therefore space is limited. You will need to complete and sign an Enrollment Form, Indemnity Form and Agreement Form which you can request from your teacher.
